Michael Karugu graduated from UMBC with a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems and later, a Master of Science in Professional Studies: Cybersecurity. He currently works in UMBC’s Division of Information Technology (DoIT). Michael started working in DoIT as a student worker and advanced to the Desktop Support Manager. He prides himself in finding solutions that aim to achieve efficiency and effectiveness in day to day operations. Aging Studies is dear to Michael’s heart having been brought up mostly by older adults. His interactions with older adults throughout his life made him realize, “it’s not only how I can be of service to them, but more importantly what I can learn from them as they have walked in my path before.” Professor Karugu can be contacted at mkarugu1@umbc.edu. |
