Jeff Watson

Jeff Watson serves as the Director of Operations for Erickson Living (1997-) with chief responsibilities for Resident Life, Philanthropy, and Fall Interventions. He is a graduate of the Catholic University of America (M.A.), Dallas Theological Seminary (D.Min.), and the University of Maryland at College Park (M.S., Ph.D., Doctoral Certificate in Gerontology).

As a Certified Health Education Specialist, Jeff offers insight into the role of grandparents in the modern family—illustrated by his 2005 monograph: “African American Grandmothers as Health Educators in the Family” in The International Journal of Aging and Human Development. Other publications have been cited by The National Hospice Organization and the American Association of Retired Persons. Before joining the UMBC faculty, Jeff taught at the University of Maryland University College (2004-2006) and in Guatemala (2004).
