Dean’s Message

Nancy KusmaulThe Erickson School of Aging Studies seeks to create leaders and scholars who have a genuine connection to real world applications in aging and aging services by bringing together talented people from different academic disciplines, backgrounds, lived experiences, interests, approaches and methodologies. Since our founding in 2005 we have integrated aging issues, business management and public policy. Our business orientation is applicable to nonprofit, for profit and government sectors and encourages leadership and entrepreneurial behavior.

ESAS offers bachelor’s and master’s Degrees in the Management of Aging Services, an Accelerated B.A./M.A. and a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate. Our 300+ alumni and organizational partners lead aging service organizations and develop innovative policy initiatives at the local, state, and federal levels. Faculty and staff conduct research in applied, community-based areas such as age-friendly communities and dementia friendly long-term services and supports. ESAS faculty, staff, and students can extend their interdisciplinary efforts through partnerships with the Hilltop Institute, School of Public Policy and the PhD in Gerontology.

I hope that you will join me on an exciting journey to create a vibrant future for all aging individuals.

Warmly,
Nancy Kusmaul, PhD, MSW, FGSA
Professor, Social Work
