Overview

The Management of Aging Services (MAgS) graduate program is designed for professionals who have demonstrated the capacity to lead and have shown the potential for even greater leadership responsibility. To master the program’s curriculum, which integrates theory and practice, applicants should be able to master the diverse academic content and have a commitment to active participation in an educational setting. The admissions committee will consider candidates’ work history, letters of professional or academic reference, personal essays, and previous academic record.

How to Apply

UMBC has a centralized application process.
Before starting, we recommend you go through the guidelines.

Applicants will need to submit the following to complete an application for the program:
1] Application form (online only)
2] Professional resume
3] Three professional or academic letters of reference (if submitting paper references, attach this recommendation form to each of them).  Please go through the recommendation guidelines.
4] An official transcript from each post-secondary institution attended
5] Residency form (domestic students only)
6] Financial responsibility form (international students only)

Application requirements for the MAgS program differ slightly from the standard UMBC grad school requirements. Here’s how –

  • Do NOT answer the essay question found on the UMBC Graduate School Application.
    Instead, write two 300-350-word essays (topics stated on online form).
  • GRE/GMAT scores are NOT required.
  • TOEFL score is mandatory only if you are an international student.
